Looking at the WCCUSD Election Results

The Measure D parcel tax renewal passed by 79%. Antonio Medrano and Tony Thurmond defeated Karen Pfeifer (incumbent) and Robert Studdiford for School Board. Now the anlaysis can begin.

I have posted a GoogleDocs spreadsheet that looks at both races on a community-by-community basis (defining community as precincts whose IDs contain the same letter codes, like “KN” for Kensington).

Petitions for Election on Trustee Areas Filed May 1st

CPEC successfully submitted 1,769 signatures, May 1st to the Contra Costa County Office of Education. Executive Assistant to the Deputy Superintendent, Terry Foley, accepted our petitions and date stamped them. The Superintendent’s office has thirty days from yesterday to verify the signatures. The process has begun!

We now have a proposed map for specifying the wards within the West Contra Costa Unified School District, if we are successful in getting the basis for local elections switched from at-large to local “mini-districts”. We’ll be meeting today to discuss this and other issues. I’ll post a summary after the meeting.
